The Art of Colleen Sobkovich
About Colleen
I started painting landscapes and barns in 2017, and it has become a huge passion of mine since. Recently, I graduated as a fine art major from the University of Waterloo. I currently live outside of Parry Sound, Ontario and paint full-time.
My artwork tends to be inspired by the beauty of Canada, from farmland to forest to beaches. I’m inspired by what can often be overlooked by people and by subjects that remind me of home. I love showing pops of colour in more dull scenes and bringing feelings of tranquillity and happiness to life.
I hope to capture scenes in my artwork as a memory of their existence, whether the barn I paint gets taken down, or the landscape changes, my painting will be a reminder of the beauty that existed. I love creating artwork for clients that capture what they love, whether it be in a commission or a familiar scene.
